Our Fundraiser has been Extended!
PEEL-A-WAY "PEEL-TO-SAVE" COUPON/PTSO FUNDRAISING EXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY, MAY 1ST, 2015

GP Parents, Students and Teachers:
The PTSO has extended their Peel-A-Way Passport to Savings Fundraiser until Friday, May 1st and need everyone's support to reach our goal of $7,000.

Product
The Peel-A- Way coupon card is a 4-paneled coupon card with 64 mini peel-off stickers that offers over $400 in savings for only $15.  It includes buy-one get-one free pizzas from Dominos, Papa Johns, buy a Whopper value Meal and get 2nd Whopper Free from Burger King,  Buy One Bowling Game at AMF and get one for free among other similar offers from Subway, Cici's Pizza, McDonald's, and Popeyes. This is a great deal and with just a purchase of 1 or 2 pizzas you get your money back.

Goal and Purpose of the Fundraiser
50% of the cost of the coupon card  ($7.50 per card) will proceed to GPMS to update and upgrade  the Mobile Computer Lab, so if each student at least purchases 1, we will fundraise over $7,000 for the school. With the purchase or sale of 3 cards or more, you get 1 free for you to use.

Coupons Acceptance
The PTSO customized the card selecting establishments that are located across the Nation so you can use the card in Prince William County but also anywhere in USA. However, we recommend you to ask acceptance before doing your orders since it may vary on franchised restaurants.

Card Expiration
The Peel-A-Way cards can be used for a year or longer.

Payment Forms
We accept payments in cash and check.  Checks are made payable to Graham Park PTSO.

Prizes
The fundraiser company has lowered the number of cards the students and teachers are required to sell in order to get 1 free card to keep or sell.  The more you sell, the more chances you have to get free cards and other prizes.

3 or more= 1 free card (after fundraiser ends on May 1st)

12 cards=  2 free cards (after fundraiser ends on May 1st)

PTSO Grand Prize

The PTSO will offer a special prize for the top 25 students with the most sales. Students that have already submitted their orders can sell more to reach the minimum required for the free cards or compete towards this prize. Sell, sell and sell!!!

Prize includes: 1 gift card for a Chick-Fill-A or 1 Chipotle Burrito + 1 gift card for Ice Cream from Sweet Frog.

Also the teacher that sells the most will also receive 1 gift card for Chick-Fill-A or 1 Chipotle Burrito + 1 gift card for Ice Cream from Sweet Frog.

We count on your usual support!!!

April is the Month of the Military Child
Parents serving or having served in the Armed Forces, April is the month of the military child.  In recognition of this, during the morning announcements, the staff at Graham Park Middle School would like to recognize these students by reading a tribute from their parents who are serving or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.  Please provide a written tribute to terryjm@pwcs.edu any time during the month of April.  Additionally, a photo of the student and parent may be provided to be displayed in a prominent location in the school.  We would like to keep this as a surprise to your student; therefore, please direct any questions to Mrs. Terry at 703-221-2118 or email terryjm@pwcs.edu

Congratulations Mrs. Mills!
Congratulations to our own Mrs. Mills who was honored as an outstanding educator by the National Coalition of Black Women, Prince William Chapter! Graham Park is so thankful for her years of service!
Community Event
Quantico EFMP has partnered with Special Olympics to host a fun track and field type event. This Olympic event has several non-competitive track and field activities that are designed to accommodate persons with special needs. Each athlete will have a buddy to assist him/her as they participate in each activity. No prior experience or physicals needed - and it is FREE! Open to EFMP families from all services! Each athlete will receive a t-shirt, a medal, and a record card of their accomplishments. View the flyer here or or register here.
For 8th Graders Only
The 8th grade team is planning some exciting end-of-year activities including a semi-formal dance, a trip to Dave and Buster's, and a farewell ceremony. We want all of our 8th graders to be a part of it! To make sure you or your child can fully participate, please make sure they have returned this signed document to your homeroom teacher.
Middle School vs. High School Grading Scales
Parents, Guardians, & Students: PWCS uses a much easier grading scale for sixth and seventh graders. In 8th grade, we use the tougher, numeric, high school grading scale, which often results in lower grades/report-card shock. 6th & 7th graders are encouraged to use this GRADE CONVERSION TOOL (Click Here) to enter their assignment grades from Parent Portal to see what their grades would be if they were in 8th grade. It's important to maintain good work habits to be ready for 8th grade and beyond...
Boxtops for Education and Labels for Education
Did you know there is a difference between Box tops and labels for education? It's true: they are completely separate BUT we collect both of them. Box tops go on the collection sheets and the labels for education go to Mrs. Ballam in the library. Thanks for helping our school by bringing both of these in!
Wanted: Your old musical instruments!
Unload those old band and orchestra instruments gathering dust in your attic and know that you've helped the students of Graham Park! Instruments do not have to be in top playing condition and will receive a tax write-off for the donation. Please contact Ms. Fessner (fessnecj@pwcs.edu) or Ms. Martino (martinokx@pwcs.edu) for more information.
