First Quarter Report Cards
It's hard to believe we're already done with the first 9-weeks!  Students will be bringing their report cards home today (11/13/14).  Please review them carefully with your students, noticing their accomplishments and helping them set new goals for the second quarter.  Please sign the cover for them to turn in tomorrow, and you may keep the report card itself.

Parents, Guardians, & Students:  PWCS uses a much easier grading scale for sixth and seventh graders.  In 8th grade, we use the tougher, numeric, high school grading scale, which often results in lower grades/report-card shock.  6th & 7th graders are encouraged to use this GRADE CONVERSION TOOL (Click Here) to enter their assignment grades from Parent Portal to see what their grades would be if they were in 8th grade.  It's important to maintain good work habits to be ready for 8th grade and beyond...
Eastern Regional Champions!

Graham Park's 2014-2015 boys soccer team had a
phenominal season and are now the 2014-2015 Eastern Regional Champions! They supported each other on and off the field and truly worked together as a TEAM! Way to go GPMS Soccer!

8th graders (you will be greatly missed next year): Grayson Andrews, Alex Bravo, Alex Forsythe, Jack Forsythe, Kofi Afriyie,
Cristian Maldonado, Elie Mayunga, Ryan McKenna, Reggie Quarshie, Yovani Vergara, and Brenden Zabava.
7th graders: Youssef Chaoui, Jose Lainez, Nana Ofari-Atta, Guillermo Padilla, Nick Rodriguez, and Brandon Woods.
6th graders: Madison Cofer, Max Johnson, and Josh Talcott.

*The team was lead by captains Grayson Andrews, Ryan McKenna, Jack Forsythe, and Brenden Zabava! These four captains set tone every day by keeping their teammates focused at practice, encouraging communication during the games, and always working hard for eachother and encouraging eachother! Much of GP's success is due to the leadership of these boys...you ROAR!

A Free and Easy Way to Support GP
Leaves are falling and our school garden needs as many as we can get to make compost and mulch for our garden beds.  We can only use leaves from untreated lawns.  Please consider bringing in your bagged leaves to the school instead of leaving them at the curb.

Boxtops for Education and Labels for Education
Did you know there is a difference between Box tops and labels for education? It's true: they are completely separate BUT we collect both of them. Box tops go on the collection sheets and the labels for education go to Mrs. Ballam in the library. Thanks for helping our school by bringing both of these in!
Thomas Jefferson Test Prep
There is a TJHSST Prep Course being held at Benton Middle School. There are four sessions: 10/4, 10/18, 11/8 and 11/22 from 9-11 and it is also available online. It is FREE to attend. You must complete the attached form and email it to Mrs. Bastian at suziebastian2015@gmail.com to register. This prep course is only available to 8th grade students. Find more information here.
